Job Description

Well established, award winning and highly respected specialist luxury tour operator are currently recruiting for an Airfares Manager where you will be responsible for all airline related product & services and manage all airline supplier relationships. You will also train & develop airline and fares knowledge across the business and maximise yield on all airline sales. This role has the option of hybrid working or office based in Manchester. Offering an excellent basic salary  of up to £28,000, working 5 days per week, Monday – Saturday (Saturdays reduced hours of 9am – 4pm & occasional Sundays, at peak season), 25 days holidays and all Bank Holidays off too!


What will I be doing as the Airfares Manager :-


  • Account Manage all Airline partners

    o Maintain & develop airline & air supplier relationships

    o Build & grow direct airline contracts

    o Analyse market data & keep up to date with network updates

  • Have a good understanding of

    o Airline route networks and products/services offered by each carrier

    o Fare structures and net fare contracts, including IT & published fares

    o Booking Classes

    o Amadeus GDS – booking, ticketing, fare building & fare filing

  • Train & develop airline route & fare knowledge in all departments

  • Train & develop Amadeus knowledge across all departments

  • Assist Reservations Team with best fare options to generate sales

  • Ensure maximum yield on airfare elements of all bookings

  • Assist Operations & Ticketing Team with queries and fare builds

  • Assist Operations & Ticketing Team with schedule changes, liaising with airlines when

    issues arise

  • Assist Product & Marketing teams with air pricing for packages & offers

  • Review & distribute tactical fares ensuring best fare options are always quoted

  • Review & distribute all airline updates (including all route or pricing changes)

  • Review and control all Out of Date Range bookings, maximise yield when fares become


  • Review and manage any airline ADM’s, ACM’s, manage dispute process.

  • Report to Management Team on airline sales & commercial opportunities

  • Basic salary of up to £28,000 dependant on transferable skills and experience.
  • Working standard operational hours 5 days per week, Monday – Saturday & Sundays of required in peak seasons.
  • 25 days holiday, plus all bank holidays, circa 33 Days paid annual leave a year, which rises a day per year up to a max of 30 days plus Bank Holidays

  • Extensive airfares knowledge in terms of contacts fares / IT fares / Round The World fares
