Job Description

Well established, award winning and highly respected specialist luxury tour operator are currently recruiting for an experienced Specialist Travel Consultant to join their passionate travel specialists selling everything to North America and Canada – Offering an excellent basic salary plus both personal monthly commission and quarterly team bonus you’ll certainly be rewarded financially for your strong knowledge of North America & Canada. Working 5 days per week, Monday – Saturday (Saturdays around one a month with reduced hours of 9am – 4pm), 25 days holidays and all Bank Holidays off too! This is a Hybrid role working 3 days in their Manchester office and 2 days at home.

 

What will I be doing as a North Amercia & Canada Travel Consultant :-

 

  • You’ll be responsible creating detailed itineraries to exactly match your clients precise requirements both over the phone and via email.
  • You’ll be offering your clients strong product and destination knowledge selling anything to The States and Canada with possible add ons to other destinations.
  • You’ll be selling various holiday products from tailormade holidays to escorted tours, cruises, lodges, luxury, honeymoons, motorhomes, solo travel & self drive tours to name a few.
  • Source varied ground arrangements with overseas suppliers, ensuring your itinerary exactly meets the client’s requirements.
  • Liaising with agents and clients at various stages of the quotation process
  • Use various web-based systems to check live availability of products
  • Process bookings on our in-house system
  • Maintaining excellent customer service throughout

What do I need to apply for the North America & Canada Travel Consultant role : -

 

  • Strong sales professional with the ability to work to sales and service targets having worked in a similar role for either a Tour Operator, an Online Travel Agent or as a Retail Travel Agent.
  • Excellent travel product and destination knowledge of North America ( USA / The States ) and Canada
  • Experience of selling any other luxury travel destinations such as Alaska, Caribbean, South Pacific, Indian Ocean, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand would be a distinct advantage.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
  • You must be able to work well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of GDS system (preferably Amadeus) would be preferred
